Class of 2021 students tour Mt. Hood Community College career technical classes
On Feb. 16 and 23, nearly half of the SHS class of 2021 participated in a tour of the college at 26000 S.E. Stark St. The main focus was career and technical education (CTE), as the numerous CTE classes offered by Mt. Hood are more visually engaging.
At Sandy High, CTE opportunities for students have been on a gradual rise. By next year, the school plans to offer more than 50 different career and technical courses under the umbrellas of agriculture, health sciences, digital media, automotive technology, manufacturing technology and engineering and technical design. The high school also offers almost 150 college credit opportunities.
