Weekly Parent Update

This was a great week at Sandy Grade School.  We wrapped up our Pennies for Patients Coin Drive on Friday and we had an incredible Science Night on Thursday.  The projects students put together this year were very creative and scientific!  A special shout out to all of our students and families that helped pull this amazing evening off.  Great work.

Here is a look at the coming weeks:

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week

I would like to thank all of the Sandy Grade volunteers who have helped out in any capacity this school year whether it be in the PAWS Store, the Jog-A-Thon, in classrooms, at activities and/or on field trips, helping with health screenings, or assisting with our perfect attendance awards.  Without your support we would not be able to do the things that we do for kids. Thank you!

Annual Music Concert (Tuesday)

Remember to mark your calendars for our annual music concert for kindergarten through 5th grade.  We will be holding the event in the evening hours of Tuesday, April 18th at Sandy High School.  Students should arrive approximately 10 minutes before their concert begins so they can get set up on stage and ready to go. Fourth and fifth graders should also remember their recorders.

Grade level concerts times are found below:

Kindergarten and First Grade             6:00-6:25 (Students should be at SHS by 5:50 pm)

Second and Third Grade                     6:35-7:00 (Students should be at SHS by 6:25 pm)

Fourth and Fifth Grade                       7:10-7:45 (Students should be at SHS by 7:00 pm)

If you have any questions about the concert, please call the front office. Thank you.

Pennies for Patients Assembly (Friday)

You won’t want to miss Friday as we will be wrapping up our coin drive for Pennies for Patients during our school-wide assembly.  I wonder who will have their name pulled to help make Mrs. George into a human sundae…

Weekly Attendance Winners

Congratulations to Mrs. Dauntless and Mrs. Nestch’s class for having the best attendance in the school this week.  They only had two students out this past week.  Nice work!

Perfect Attendance Challenge (April)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!  That is right, this month we are working towards perfect attendance and ice cream!  Make sure you are here every day so you can bask in the glory of perfect attendance and yummy ice cream.  Delicious!

Registration for Incoming Kindergarteners

In case you weren’t able to join us for Kindergarten Round Up this past week, please stop in to the front office to pick up a registration packet.

We hope you have a great week!

Sincerely,

Dr. Rachael George
