5th Grade Health Fair

You are invited to come by 5th Grade on Friday, January 11th to explore our Health Fair. We will be hosting visitors at three times:

The displays at our Health Fair are the result of weeks of research guided by the central idea that “beliefs and values influence the way people and communities address health needs.” Students explored a variety of topics and are excited to share what they learned!

Above, Between, BelowAbove Beyond Below logo

On Friday, January 18, we will have the third of a four-part anti-bullying series called Above, Between, Below presented in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classrooms by the Oregon Children’s Theatre. These 45-minute workshops invite students to identify their personal values and explore strategies to put those values into practice- both online and off. Teaching artists will use theatre-based activities, writing prompts, and group discussions to engage multiple learning styles and provide students with a variety of entry points. Students will explore skills related to conflict resolution, self-management, perspective-taking, and media-literacy topics, including identity, privacy, and ways to contribute to a healthy online community. The final workshop is on Thursday, February 7.

PYP Math Night

On Monday, January 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm PYP teachers are inviting parents to come out and learn about our new math curriculum, Bridges.
