Hello Bobcat Family! My name is Carolyn Cone and I am so thrilled to be back for my second year at Sandy Grade School teaching third grade. This is my seventh year teaching, and my fourth year teaching third grade (it is the best grade!).  I graduated from Indiana University where I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics. Go Hoosiers! I love cheering for them, especially during basketball season. I also have received a masters in English and Second Language Studies from the University of Cincinnati. With my two degrees, I am able to combine reading and writing into math class which makes it so much fun to teach.

This year I will be starting the school year as Miss Cone, but come October, I will be Mrs. Habel! My fiance, Matthew, and I will be getting married in our hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. We moved to Oregon just over a year ago and we can’t get enough of everything the state has to offer. We love backpacking, hiking, skiing, and doing other outdoor activities together. Fingers crossed I can remember my “new” name!

When I am not teaching, I love being in the outdoors, crafting, and I love traveling to new places with friends and family. I also enjoy finding books to add to our classroom library, there is no such thing as too many books! I cannot wait for another fun-filled year at Sandy Grade School.
