My name is Dr. Rachael George and this is my fifth year at Sandy Grade. I am very excited to be a part of an experienced staff that truly puts kids first. Prior to working at Sandy Grade, I was a middle school principal in Southern Oregon with a comparable student population to Sandy Grade. During my three years there, we moved from historically ranking Satisfactory to Outstanding and were identified as a Level 5: Model School for my final two years there by the Oregon Department of Education. Prior to entering into administration, I taught in Central Oregon at the high school, elementary, and middle school level in a variety of capacities starting in the middle of the 2004-2005 school year.
I have a passion for learning and educating our youth. I currently hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from George Fox University and well as a Master of Arts in Teaching. In addition, I hold a second masters, a Master of Science in Mathematics Education from Oregon State University, and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Oregon University with a major in Environmental Studies.
After spending 11 years working for the Forest Service fighting fire, I love spending my spare time in the woods. You can often find me rafting the Rogue River, fishing the local streams, cheering on the Ducks and the Beavers, or training for my next marathon.
